I’ve been doing a re-read of ALL of Stephen King’s books from the first 10 years of his career over at Tor. So far we’re up to Night Shift and this has been a lot of fun, although I should have picked an author who wrote shorter books, to be honest. I feel like I’m Indiana Jones trying to stay just ahead of that massive boulder. Here’s what I’m reading, with links to the re-reads that have already gone up:
Carrie (1974)
’Salem’s Lot (1975)
The Shining (1977)
Night Shift (short story collection) (1978)
The Stand (1978)
The Dead Zone (1979)
Firestarter (1980)
Cujo (1981)
Different Seasons (four novellas) (1982)
Christine (1983)
Pet Sematary (1983)
Thinner (1984)
If you want to know why these books were chosen…there’s a post just for you! And there’s also a bonus post. Because Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining is so different from Stephen King’s I’ve done a separate post just looking at it on its own. There’s a new post every Thursday, and now that I’ve finished that mountain of pages known as The Stand I’m moving full speed ahead.
