A True Ghost Story #1

On January 6, 1975 a family of three moved into a two-bedroom house in Pittsburgh. The Whites had moved because of Mr. White’s new job, and they were far from their friends and family for the first time. On the first night in their new house a scratching sound came from the baseboards of the kitchen and dining room. Over the next two weeks, mysterious giggling came from the basement rec room, the sound of whispered conversations would suddenly stop when they entered the living room, and a voice crying “Get out!” came from one of the closets. The Whites, however, remained undisturbed because the family was deaf. Unable to haunt them, the phantom voices became frustrated, then despondent, and eventually ceased altogether. The Whites never noticed.
